| Barchester was
founded in 1998 to give impartial strategic and corporate
finance advice at board level to some of the world's largest
and most respected companies, drawing upon state of the
art expertise. Barchester Group Limited continues to be authorised and regulated by The Financial Services Authority.
In
1999, with the addition of a number of partners with
expertise of operational management and venture capital fund
raising, Barchester's activities were expanded to include
the provision of ongoing strategic support to young,
high-growth companies through Barchester Ventures.
As well as operating on a
conventional cash fee paying business, Barchester has a
portfolio of high growth companies to which it has agreed to
give strategic and corporate finance advice, taking equity
stakes in lieu of fees.
In 2003, Barchester decided to build on its experience and contacts within the media by setting up a film production company, Barchester Films Limited. Barchester Films has a number of projects in development.
Barchester's style and
values and the background and expertise of its partners are
in the classic merchant banking tradition of impartial and
broadly-based advice backed where appropriate by taking an
investment risk in its clients or projects where it has specialist skills.
